Prof. Emmanuel Iwuoho from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa presented a seminar on Wednesday 1st May in the NCSR.

The seminar entitled Harnessing the substrate-induced spin state transition in haemolytic monooxygenases for the construction of highly sensitive nanobiosensor systems discussed role of iron spin state transition in the electrochemical reactivity of haemolytic proteins.

The electrodynamics of heme-thiolate monooxygenase enzymes in the presence of substrates was also explained on the basis of iron spin state transition theory.
