SmartOcean Forum 2013
The fourth SmartOcean Forum was held on 5th and 6th November in Belfast. The purpose of the event was to highlight the potential of our ocean resource to support shared opportunities in delivering hi-tech products and services to global marine markets.
The Forum took place at the impressive Titanic Belfast Centre and featured sessions on “Technology Contributing to Blue Growth”, “Renewable Energy/Exploitation of Marine Natural Resources” and “Marine Data and Knowledge/Ocean Observation”. Keynote speeches were given by Mark Kellett from Magnet Networks, Dan Fay from Microsoft and Andrei Grigoriev from SAP. Speeches were also given by representatives from the European Space Agency, Statoil, U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System and the European Commission.
