OVERVIEW

In recent years, the development of nanostructured materials has generated huge interest, both in academia and industry. These novel materials possess unique characteristics due to their quasi one-dimensional nature, resulting in behaviour that can deviate from that observed in more traditional bulk materials. This symposium will act as a platform to present the latest advances in cutting edge nanomaterials research.

The symposium will comprise a series of invited presentations by leading researchers under the following themes:

  • Stimuli responsive materials.
  • Multifunctional nanostructured platforms.
  • Designer molecules for targeted molecular recognition and reporting.
  • Nanomaterials and microstructures at the biological interface.

For further details of the symposium programme see the sidebar. We now invite poster papers to complement the oral presentations under these themes. As the total number attending the conference will be limited to 70, abstracts for posters will be peer-reviewed and the most significant ones selected (see call for abstracts).
