NCSR Postgraduate Education Programme

The aim of the NCSR Postgraduate Education Programme is to provide NCSR Staff, post doctoral fellows and postgraduate students (both at DCU & IT Tallaght) with a multidisciplinary programme of modules covering the core competencies of sensor research. All modules are delivered by NCSR researchers and each of the eight clusters provide a module. It is envisaged that these modules will be developed into a masters programme in sensors technology. Modules delivered in the series are listed below:

Module Title Lecturer
Introduction to sensors and their applications Prof. Dermot Diamond
Micro Total Analysis Systems Dr. Claire Davis, Dr. Edel Minogue
Electrochemical Sensors Prof. Robert Forster
Bioreceptors-Beyond Genomics Dr. Brendan O'Connor
Molecular Recognition & Transduction Prof. Han Vos , Prof. Dermot Diamond
Biosensors Prof. Richard O'Kennedy
Surface Characterisation Dr. Greg Hughes
Separation Science Dr. Brett Paull
Optical Sensing Techniques Prof. Brian MacCraith
