Supercritical Fluid Chromatography. Physically comparable to normal High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) Systems, however, due to the use of Carbon Dioxide in the super-critical state, it can run at much higher flow-rates to achieve GC-style chromatography (i.e. improved diffusion characteristics & mass transfer, coupled with low viscosity = high separation efficiency and fast separation capability). Exploits the thermodynamic properties of supercritical fluids to help maximise throughput and efficiency.
