About the NCSR Polymer MicroNanoFab

The NCSR MicroNanoFab is an open access micro and nano- polymer-fabrication research facility. Our mission is to provide the equipment, infrastructure and expertise necessary for the wider NCSR research community to develop polymer based lab-on-a-chip devices and platforms. The MicroNanoFab’s open access policy provides access to a consolidated park of polymer fabrication equipment and facilities with over 120 m2 of clean-room space.  With approximately EUR3M EUR worth of equipment and infrastructure, our facility offers the state of the art in ultra-precision micromachining, electroplating, embossing, injections moulding, laser ablation and hybrid fabrication techniques.

With our dedicated staff of qualified instructors and trained technicians the facility helps students and faculty master the tools and equipment to carry out their own experiments. The facility provides access to a wider range of equipment, where possible placed in central, open-access and task-oriented lab space. It is envisaged that the facility will continue to grow, attract further funding and staff to become a world-renowned fabrication facility.
